This wooden figure represents Shango, also called Chango, major deity of the religion of the Yoruba of southwestern Nigeria. He also figures in the religion of the Edo people of southeastern Nigeria, who refer to him as Esango, and in the religion of the Fon people of Benin, who call him Hevioso or Ebioso. Like all of the Yoruba gods (orishas), Shango is both a deified ancestor and a natural force, both aspects being associated with a cult and a priesthood. Sango also known as Jakuta is perhaps the most popular Orisha; he is god of thunder and lightning and as well one of the most worshipped gods all over the world. Sango is a royal ancestor of the Yoruba as he was the third king of the Oyo Kingdom.

This wooden figure is a dramatic historical work of art that undoubtedly stuns our eyes and enriches our minds. This wooden statue was made by Olayinka in Osogbo, Nigeria.

This statue will compliment and bless any home.
